MIS Break Out Area
NEW LEARNING SPACES
Break-out area for the senior school at the MIS | refurbishment | LPH 1-9 | completion in April 2014 | approx. 140 sqm NIA
An unconventional space dividing element was created for the new breakout area of the Munich International School in Starnberg. Using a rail attached on the existing concrete ceiling, a fire proofed curtain specially designed for the space can be moved around the room in varying configurations. This allows a variety of different environments to be created through the use of light and space depending on the position of the curtain. The aim is to improve the use of space, its acoustics and atmosphere. The students participated in workshops taking part in the design process.
